Get the Most Out of Your Bronco With These 6 Interior Upgrades

Bronco interior upgrades

Riding around in your Bronco isn't all about the rugged exterior—the interior can make a world of difference too. A functional interior can make your driving experience more comfortable, safe, and enjoyable for both you and your passengers.

Whether you're an off-road enthusiast or just looking to spruce up your Bronco, here are nine essential interior upgrades you should consider adding.

1. Dashboard Mounts and Accessories

Your Ford Bronco's interior is designed for comfort and practicality, but it can be improved with a few extra accessories. The dashboard is one of the interior components that you’ll use most, so it’s a good place to start when it comes to aftermarket interior upgrades.

Mounting your phone or tablet to your Bronco dashboard will ensure that you always have easy access to navigation, entertainment, and other important information while on the go.

The best part about these mounts is that they are easy to install and remove, so you don't have to worry about leaving them in when you're done. Plus, they come in different sizes and styles, so you can find one that fits your Bronco's interior perfectly.

BAM BYODR

Front dashboard of Bronco

Our most versatile dashboard accessory, the BAM BYODR (Bring Your Own Device Rail), was crafted to accommodate a range of mounting apparatuses and accessories. It is compatible with Picatinny or easy clamp-on mounts, no matter what size they may be.

TAP Bronco Dash Accessory Rail

Our TAP Bronco Dash Accessory Mount is a simplified version of the BAM BYODR. It's got the same single mounting point but is considerably smaller and more discreet. They're so similar that if you purchased two TAP mounts, you could build a BAM BYODR. And the opposite is also true—if you wanted to shorten your BAM, you could remove the long rails and replace them with the smaller Picatinny rail.

SLAP BPM Bronco Accessory Mount

Our SLAP BPM Bronco Accessory Mount is the smallest of the bunch. It blends directly in with your Bronco's interior with its inconspicuous design. And unlike an entire rail, this accessory mount is a compact way to mount your things.

The Bronco comes with an accessory mount built–in, but it’s made of plastic (and kind of flimsy). After deconstructing the OEM panel, we created an upgraded dash trim piece with a strengthened metal sleeve and nut insert.

In an effort to make the mounting location as secure as possible, we reimagined the plastic panel, replacing it with a billet aluminum piece that uses M6 threaded hardware. To further increase its adaptability, we included two 1/4-20 threaded locations for each side of the center spot. All in all, our final design is both rigid and 'bomb-proof'!

B.A.L.L.S. (Billet Aluminum Longitudinally Locking Sphere)

OK, you caught us. We just wanted to find a fun way to use the word “balls.” Don’t ask how long the meeting to come up with an abbreviation took.

But our B.A.L.L.S. mounting kit is seriously no joke. When you use it with one of our dashboard rails, you get the ultimate combo of accessories and mounts. Our innovative B.A.L.L.S system is designed to fit any 1/4-20 threaded hole, as well as our Picatinny and smooth rail designs, making mounting effortless and simple.

If you want to keep your tech close by, record sturdy footage, or just have a secure mounting point in your Bronco, it doesn't get any beefier than the Accessory Mount + B.A.L.L.S combo!

2. The D X M.O.S.H. Assembly

With this handle-mount combo, we’re taking accessory mounting to the next level. We call it “The D” because it’s shaped like a D (and it’s easy to make puns with).

THE D is equipped with a variety of 1/4-20 threaded positions, meaning that any brand-agnostic accessories using the same thread are welcome. It also comes with an included side-mounted Picatinny rail, perfect for securely affixing flashlights and other accessories. Both the 20mm and 1" B.A.L.L.S can be easily attached in all locations (not included).

Similar to the OEM part, we kept the handle for those who like to grab it for added support while off-roading, but this handle is made from a much stronger material (billet aluminum) and has a much better grip for easier use.

3. Soundbar

Sound bar in back seat of car

No matter where you're going in your Ford Bronco, the right sound system can make the experience a thousand times better. And the built-in sound system that comes stock with the Bronco is pretty weak, so why not take it up a notch with an aftermarket soundbar?

When you use Ford's aftermarket soundbar for your next weekend trip, you'll be able to enjoy your favorite tunes in crystal-clear detail (especially with its upgraded bass). You'll also get a whole range of audio controls, including bass and treble adjustments. And if you want to take your sound system up another level, there are plenty of other add-ons and enhancements available to choose from, including external subwoofers and amplifiers.

4. Swing Gate Upgrade Options

One of the best things about having a Ford Bronco is that you get plenty of cargo space in your swing gate. To get the most out of it, you can add a swing gate table—a great way to use your Bronco's interior.

Tailgate Folding Tables

The table can be placed in the cargo area and folded down when you're not using it, so you don't have to worry about taking up too much space. Plus, its durable material can take whatever you throw at it. The Ford Tailgate Folding Table is perfect for camping trips, tailgates, or just having lunch in the wild.

Molle Grate Systems

Molle grate systems provide a great way to keep the cargo in your swing gate secure and organized, with adjustable compartments that allow you to easily store and access items as needed. They come in different sizes, so make sure to measure the interior of your Bronco before buying one. You can buy one directly from Ford, and it comes with space to organize your tools, gear, and other items with ease.

5. Floor Mats

Bronco floor mats

Rubber is much easier to clean and maintain than carpet, and even normal wear and tear and spills can dirty your carpets over time, and floor mats offer an easy and practical solution. They are simple accessories that extend the life of your Bronco's interior, protect your carpets from dirt, and give the interior of your Bronco a touch of style.

Floor mats come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, so you can find ones that fit perfectly with the contours of your Bronco.

Ford all weather floor mat

For extra protection against mud and water, you should opt for rubberized or nylon-reinforced mats. The Ford All-Weather Foor Liner 4pc Set is one of the best, and it includes additional protection for the back seats. Plus, it fits seamlessly into the floor areas with a heightened border, minimizing the amount of excess dirt and debris that might make it underneath the mat.

Weather tec Bronco floor mat

WeatherTech Bronco mats are also among the most durable and make clean-up easy. After a day of hopping in and out of the cab on muddy trails, you'll be grateful for the extra layer of protection.

Bronco truck floor mat

For maximum protection throughout your Bronco, we recommend using cargo liners for your trunk as well. Ford’s Bronco-branded cargo area liners ensure safe and secure storage that won’t damage the material underneath and they’re straight from the manufacturer so you can be sure that they’ll fit seamlessly. Especially if you’re carrying a spare tire, sharp tools and objects, or dirty clothing and materials, protecting your cargo area cannot be overlooked or forgotten.

6. Storage Box

Aside from protecting your storage area, using a storage box can help you maximize it. The box can be customized to fit the exact space and can also come with different compartments for easy access. Plus, a metal storage box protected by lock and key will secure your valuables in the event that someone attempts to break into your Bronco.

Considering the random shapes and sizes of the items you’ll have back there (and the cost of replacing them in the event of theft), it's really a no-brainer!

Rough country storage box

Our favorite storage box is the Rough Country Storage Box because it’s built to last. If you didn’t notice based on how seriously we take our dashboard rail construction, durability is an absolute must for us (as we’re sure it is for you). And Rough Country makes a functional storage box with a 400lb capacity that’s made of 16-gauge cold-rolled steel that’s black powder-coated for additional durability. We love the sound of that.

In terms of organization, it’s got a everything you need—behind the slide-out lockable drawer, there are dividers to keep your tools, materials, and additional Bronco gear separated from each other. Especially if you like to customize your Bronco frequently by switching out different parts, keeping your small and valuable items in safe and organized locations is critical.

Easy installation and a lifetime replacement warranty are the icing on the cake for us. You just can’t beat the level of convenience, organization, and reliability that this storage box offers.

Final Thoughts: Upgrading Your Bronco’s Interior

Interior customizations and upgrades definitely make your ride look and feel better (trust us on the soundbar). But they also make it much more functional. Trunk storage is always a mess and climbing into and out of your Bronco can dirty it fairly quickly, so having a safe place to put your feet and your things makes cleaning up and staying organized much easier.

Beyond that, having dashboard rails that can actually withstand the pressure they’re put undergoes a long way. When your dashcam, phone, or other gadgets are securely fastened, you can concentrate on what’s ahead of you rather than what’s in front of you.
